Crunchy Chicken Casserole


2 cups chicken, cooked and shredded

8 ounces egg noodles, cooked according to package directions

1 can of cream of chicken

1 cup sour cream

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 cup cheddar cheese, freshly grated, divided

1 ½ cups fried onions


Preheat the oven to 350*

Spray a 10-inch baking dish with nonstick spray

Put the cooked noodles in a bowl

Add the soup, sour cream, shredded chicken, garlic powder and half the cheese to the bowl

Mix well until they are totally combined

Transfer the mixture to the baking dish and place in the oven.

Bake for 25 minutes, until the casserole is bubbly and begins to turn golden brown

Remove from oven, garnish with fried onions and remaining cheese

Return to the oven and cook for another 10 minutes.

Leave to cool for 10 minutes before serving
